The American Indiana Water Company was contacted today, concerning water quality issues that Rivers
Edge has been seeing. This information only applies to Rivers Edge, Bushman’s is a separate system with
different ownership.

When American Indiana bought the water system, there were two pumps (one main, one backup). The
backup pump did not work, so the entire system depends upon the one pump. American Indiana is
digging a new well with a new pump, which will become the primary water source once completed later
this summer. The current main pump will become the backup. Unfortunately, the current main pump
(future backup pump) failed last week and had to be extracted from the 80 foot well, and replaced with
a new pump. This was the event that the boil warning was post for. In replacing the pump and pipe in
the well, dirt was stirred up and air got in the lines. This is why there are pressure spikes in the system at
present, and bubbles in the water that make the water look cloudy until they settle out. The dirt that got
in the system should be cleared out soon and back to normal. The water is safe to drink, although the
brown color at some homes and the cloudiness is visually unappealing.

If you have additional concerns, please contact the water company.
